Configuring an ECN320/330

  • Access the ECN locally
  • Set the IP Information and management port
  • Set the NTP
  • Define VLAN information

Accessing ECN 320 locally
Connect the ECN320 and the PC via console cable (black cable) and open access the ECN via HyperTerminal or CRT
Type in the username and password

On the ecn320# prompt type in the following:

Configuring IP information into ECN

ecn320# config system interface external vlan 246 ip x.x.x.x netmask y.y.y.y.
ecn320# config system interface default-gateway z.z.z.z
ecn320# config system pem-management port 26 {optional}
ecn320# config system interface activate

ECN VLAN Configuration Sample:

ECN-01# show system interface

External VLAN: 246 IP: ip.ip.ip.ip Netmask: Priority: 7
Internal VLAN: 247 IP: ip.ip.ip.ip Netmask:
Untagged VLAN: 248 IP: ip.ip.ip.ip Netmask:
Default Gateway: ip.ip.ip.ip

Note: After issuing the interface activate command, the ECN320 unit will reset.

Open a management port

Configuring NTP into ECN

To synchronize the time of the equipment with the time of the NMS type in the ff.

ecn320# config system ntp server-ip ip.ip.ip.ip
ecn320# config save {Saves the configuration done}

You could manually set the time and date on the ECN320 by typing:

ecn320# config system calendar date 8.08.06 time 09:30:00

Configuring VLAN
login as admin
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 105 vlan-name NPRI
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 108 vlan-name NB
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 109 vlan-name SKY
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 110 vlan-name NPER
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 111 vlan-name NV
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 112 vlan-name NP
ecn320# conf sys service-vlan add vlan-id 113 vlan-name NPRO
ecn320# conf save

ecn320# sh sys ser
